The photographs she brings to the September Exhibit were created during her Fellowship with the John Teti Rare Photography Book Collection in 2019. They stem from a critical examination of the representation of women in the history of photography and utilize the books of the collection. Warwick photographed the covers of books by male authors featuring nude females, but used spotlights to overexpose the women’s bodies in her re-presentation of the images, both covering them and drawing attention to their exploited positioning as muse/object.
